I thought I tried Kale with everything- celery, spinach, apple…the pairing combinations were endless! When I entered Fuel Plus, a health conscious cafe nestled on Church Street, I came to discover that this was not true. I ordered myself a Kale smoothie right off the bat, took a sip and was amazed at how delish it was. Upon further discovery, I realized it was paired with KIWI (!!) of all things.
This is what Fuel Plus is all about- pairing together ingredients that make eating healthy fun and delicious. They also want to make eating healthy affordable and at $5.99 for a LARGE smoothie, I was blown away. Seriously- where can you find something that reasonable?
Not only do they have a delicious smoothie menu but they also have a wide variety of little bit sized gluten free snacks like peanut butter protein fuel balls, brownies and pecan gluten/vegan free squares. The only downfall is that if you have one fuel ball, you will most likely want another few (guilty as charged). Their menu also includes organic fair trade coffee, sandwiches, Kombucha, salads and my personal favourite-homemade ginger ale!
The owners behind Fuel Plus, Gary Taylor & Chester Wong, are extremely knowledgeable and source all of the product from food markets within Toronto. Knowing the ingredients are coming from places like the St. Lawrence Market, makes me love the place even more.
Pretty sure this will be a weekly stop for me!
