Here is my list of some of the best budget friendly hotels that we have stayed at around the world as a family! These are a mix of Bed and breakfasts, all inclusives, an AIR BNB and some boutique properties!
#1. Podere Conte Ugo- Tuscany, Italy
This amazing bed and breakfast was one of the best places I have stayed for the price. Included in the rate you get breakfast every morning looking the rolling hills of Tuscany and the owners make everything fresh. The pool was incredible and the rooms had everything you need!
#2. Wyndham Altra, Punta Cana:
A recently renovated property that is perfect for families. It has over 5 a la carte restaurants, a full buffet ( if you like more variety) and even a brand new waterpark for the kids. They have a small kids club on site, plenty of pool space and nightly entertainment.
#3. El Careyes Mexico:
This resort is White Lotus vibes at a fraction of the cost. I am shocked that the hotel is not wayyyy more a night. This area is in an exclusive/hidden gem of a spot in Mexico that is visited by celebrities and those people who want to hide out so expect chill vibes and not a ton of action. The pools are INSANE and the rooms are modern and spacious.
#4. The Surfjack Hawaii:
Cool and hip hotel in the center of Oahu! It has a mid century feel and has a killer restaurant and coffee shop on site. We loved it with our 1 year old at the time!
#5. True Blue Bay Resort Grenada:
This is the best family hotel in Grenada and a great base for exploring the country! It’s colourful, has an onsite restaurant and lot of activities on site for the kids to enjoy ( including several pools!)
#6. Hotel Palmaria, Mallorca
This is a no frills property with one of the most outstanding views I have seen in my life. The interior was simple-a king bed, crib for our smallest and a bathroom. Did we have Egyptian sheet linens and lots of space to move around? No but we were in Europe! We beached all day ( 25 feet from the hotel entrance) hung out on the balcony with wine and woke up to the waves crashing. No complaints whatsoever!!
#7. Hotel Capellán de Getsemaní, Cartagena
Cartagena was one of our fav trips we did as a family ( so much culture, restaurants and great beaches) and this hotel is in the center of town. It is a true escape after a busy day of walking around. It has 2 on site pools, a beautiful restaurant with morning breakfast and the rooms are luxurious!
#8. Trullo Fragola, Puglia
The cost of this place doesn’t come off as budget right away until you realize the rental is 4 BEDROOMS…each with their own washroom. It has a full kitchen, pool, bocce court and is an incredible location. It is perfect for two families to rent together and when you do the math that way, it’s a steal for this area!
