Although I am a city girl at heart, there is nothing like trading in the bright lights and sirens for the sun and mountains. Sedona, however, was more than just some sun rays and some cliffs. It was pure magic. Pure red and orange magic. Seriously…I have never witnessed rock colours like this! We woke up at an ungodly hour to watch the sunrise ( let’s just say I had my second coffee at 7AM) and was about to discover why many people venture to this special place to heal, unwind and breathe in the Sedona air. Yes thats right…this place is HUGE for spiritual retreats. As somebody who hates chanting “OM” during my yoga class, I wanted to not only “OM” in between my coffee sips but also wanted to believe in something more (CHEESY I KNOW!). The only downfall was that I didn’t wear runners ( long, long story) and the only thing I will say that about that is that Shoemint did not create shoes meant for hiking a canyon, ok?
Apparently, there is an old saying that says “God created the Grand Canyon, but he lives in Sedona.” It couldn’t be more true.
