New Mexico smelt like cowboy leather and mexican food and was decked out in everything Pendleton. The combination of those 3 things made me really like the place. New Mexico itself is also called “The Land of Enchantment” and after finding an amazing Kale salad at a restaurant…I knew it was true.
We drove from Page, Arizona to Santa Fe, New Mexico which took about 7 and a half hours and oddly enough, felt like a quick drive. It was such a strange feeling coming into “civilization” after almost 3 days of being in complete isolation with nature. We stepped out of the car and into this little town and definitely stood out like sore thumbs.
We were greeted with “Well you guys aren’t from here, now are ya?” and “Y’all are city girls…which city?”. Everyone was so warm and inviting and each person wanted to make sure we enjoyed their small, charming, little city. That we did!
