BABY REGISTRY MUST HAVE’S

Last updated on September 4th, 2018

This post is in partnership with buybuy BABY, a brand I love.
All opinions here are my own.

So when I started doing my registry I happily added all the regular suspects onto it- stroller, car seat, crib but what really stumped me was some of the other items that I had NO clue about. As I mentioned in a previous post, I had a friend of mine come with me who has been through the process before. She was the one who pointed out how crucial these items below are that are often overlooked!! Once I learned more about them, I am SO glad that they are on my registry at buy buy BABY!
I didn’t even think to register for something so basic like this but my friend really highlighted how MANY bibs you go through.  You may have registered for two. Or four. Register for just a few more. Your baby will not only spit up after feedings, but also between feedings. And then there’s the drooling. Have a few cloths handy at all times. You’ll be washing and reusing these often. And let’s be serious….some may not be able to be re-used! I especially love the look of the Aden + Anais brand
Perfect for babes who can’t blow their own noses, but are miserably stuffed up. Most babies cannot breathe through your nose for the first few months so they need some help! This is safe (developed by a Doctor) and very sanitary ( not always the case with cleaning baby up).
Made of powder coated steel, this was made to help changing diapers a little more tolerable! With how often you are changing diapers in the first bit, any device that helps with the process is a key one apparently! This also helps to leave the babies room fresh smelling and cozy
For a mom who is on her second or third baby, a breast pump might seem like an obvious thing to add but this is one item I completely forgot about. It is not only crucial for you but also for your baby. If you plan to breastfeed, you will need one and the Medela Breast Pump is one of the best in the game. I got the Freestyle Double Electric Pump which is hands free and can be brought wherever you go! It looks like a walkie talkie aka very cool! Medela is a pro in the indstry so not only is the pump itself great but it comes with all the accessories you will need- nursing/pumping bra, milk storage bags etc!

CLOSET ORGANIZATION

Not only did my good friend recommend this but on every baby forum I have ever been on, everyone kept mentioning the infamous “DockAtot” saying it was a life saver. The DocKATot is a multi-functional lounger, co-sleeper and playtime lounger that is 100% natural. Our pup Finn didn’t go in it but he sure as heck wanted to- and I won’t lie- I almost wanted to take a snuggle in there! It looks so cozy and I can see why babies are so hyped on these things! The sleeper is made in Europe and has been tested for breathability! I love all the different covers you can get for it too

THIS THING. WOW. What type of device can monitor your babies breathing, heart rate and oxygen levels? I already know I am going to be a Helicopter mom at the beginning who constantly wakes up in the middle of the night to check and see if my baby’s breathing. This is not really for the baby in a way but mainly for a parent’s anxiety anything to make mine a little less…BRING IT ON!

#7. Baby Wipe Warmer

Some people see this as a “baby luxury” item but the thing that makes this item so crucial is that it actually helps you AND your baby in the end. WIN-WIN! And at only $27.99, it isn’t breaking the bank. Let me explain..

If your baby is waking up in the middle of the night and needs to be changed…you want the process to be fast and over with. If he or she is coming from a warm and snuggle swaddle and then is being stripped down and patted with a cold wipe- they will likely be SUPER bothered. Using this in the night or when they are coming from a nap, it will allow the process to be fast and they won’t feel as jolted. They can go back to sleep without a big fuss…which is nice for the baby but even BETTER for you at 4AM

#8. Ollie Swaddle

This swaddle is supposed to be the best in the game. Not only does it come with instructions on how to swaddle properly but it is supposed to keep them really secure. Babies- especially newborns- love to be wrapped up like little burritos but a lot of the swaddles on the market easily become undone. The Ollie Swaddle was developed by  pediatric neuro-developmental psychologist, Dr. Kiti and once it was used on a few babies- dramatic differences started to happen! All babies slept better as the swaddle moved with the baby through the night and the pressure was comfortable yet snug! Sounds like a dream come true to me!
