3 Days in Victoria BC: Perfect Weekend Itinerary

Last Updated on July 27, 2026 by Marisa

If you are looking to spend 3 days in Victoria BC , this itinerary checks off all the boxes: good restaurants, awesome attractions and even some downtime!

If you’re looking for the perfect mix of lush rainforest hikes, ocean views, incredible food and charming city streets, Victoria has it all plus some. Instead of staying downtown, we based ourselves in Langford at Quails Run, which ended up being the perfect home base. We were close to some of Vancouver Island’s best hiking trails and nature experiences, while still only being about 25 minutes from downtown Victoria.

3 Days in Victoria BC is the perfect amount of time to get to know the city and surrounding area, but if I had to do it again I would have stayed 1-2 more nights and explored the Sooke area a bit more ( tons to do there) but overall it’s a great length of time to really see all the cool highlights!

Here’s exactly how I’d spend 3 days in Victoria BC

Day 1: Cider, Gardens & Waterfalls

Right from the plane you are going to want to hit the ground running, especially since our first stop is only 10 minutes from the airport!

Lunch & Cider Tasting: Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse

Start your trip with a visit to one of Vancouver Island’s most beautiful cideries. Order a tasting flight overlooking the orchard and enjoy lunch while taking in views of the ocean and surrounding countryside.

Afternoon: Butchart Gardens

No first trip to Victoria is complete without wandering through the world-famous Butchart Gardens. No matter the season, you’ll find beautifully designed gardens, winding pathways and colourful blooms around every corner. Plan to spend at least 2-3 hours exploring.

I couldn’t believe the history behind it ( started by a woman who lived on the grounds and it just continued to build and expand with her TLC!). It is truly a place that transports you and makes you feel like you may just be in HEAVEN

Late Afternoon: Niagara Falls

Just minutes from Goldstream Provincial Park is Vancouver Island’s own Niagara Falls. The hike is short but moderately steep, rewarding you with a beautiful waterfall tucked into the forest.

Trailhead: Park at the Goldstream Provincial Park Day Use Area (near the Nature House) and follow the signed Niagara Falls Trail. The easy 1.3 km round-trip hike takes about 20โ€“30 minutes and leads to a beautiful 47.5-metre waterfall tucked into the forest.

Dinner: Ryes & Shine Distillery

This spot is only 5 minutes from the rental and was such a unique experience. Don’t skip the tasting flight, and if you enjoy refreshing cocktails, order the Rosรฉ Cream Soda…it was honestly one of the best drinks I’ve had in a long time. The pork belly bao buns and duck wings were also standouts.

Day 2: Chasing Waterfalls & Coastal Adventures

Morning: Goldstream Provincial Park

Start the day early with one of Victoria’s most iconic hikes. Walk through towering Douglas fir and cedar trees before crossing the famous Goldstream Suspension Bridge.

Mid-Morning: Malahat SkyWalk

Just a short drive away is one of Vancouver Island’s newest attractions. Walk the elevated boardwalk before climbing the spiral tower for panoramic views over the Saanich Inlet. Don’t forget to ride the giant spiral slide back down.

Lunch: Grilled to the Mac

Grab lunch from the popular mac and cheese food truck before heading west toward the coast. This is 5 minutes from the Sooke Potholes!!

We got the mac and cheese grilled cheese and holy moly…it was delish

Afternoon: Sooke Potholes

Spend some time exploring the crystal-clear pools and river carved through ancient rock. During warmer months it’s also a popular swimming spot.

Late Afternoon: Mystic Beach

One of Vancouver Island’s most beautiful beaches. The forest hike to get there is almost as impressive as the beach itself, complete with a suspension bridge and dramatic coastline.

Dinner: Ugly Duckling Dining & Provisions

End your day with one of Victoria’s most talked-about restaurants. Their ever-changing menu focuses on seasonal ingredients and creative dishes in a relaxed setting will leave you speechless. It’s one of those dining experiences that you will think about for years to come. No really, it’s been 2 weeks and I have thought about it more than I care to admit

One of the coolest things about this spot is that Chef Corbin ( the mastermind behind the restaurant) is extremely hands on. You will see him around the restaurant, chatting with guests and he even is the one that creates the special fortunes at the end of your experience (once you go you will get what I am saying).

Day 3: Castles, Whales & Downtown Victoria

Morning: Get up early and go grab coffee from Saint Cecila. Super cute spot right downtown where you can fuel up and take in the quiet streets

Mid Morning: Hatley Castle

Fans of movies and architecture will love Hatley Castle. Built in 1908, it’s best known as Professor Xavier’s School in the X-Men films, but the beautiful gardens and grounds are worth visiting even if you’ve never seen the movies.

It’s free to visit so grab a coffee and take your time soaking it up!

Late Morning: Explore Downtown Victoria

Spend a few hours wandering through downtown Victoria. Browse local shops, walk along the Inner Harbour, discover hidden alleys and stop to admire the historic architecture that makes the city so charming.

Here are some really cool stores you should check out:

Lunch: Ebizo Japanese Restaurant

One of Victoria’s highest-rated sushi spots and the perfect stop before an afternoon on the water. A friend who lived in Victoria for over a decade told me I must go here and we know when the locals recommend it that it’s a MUST!

If I lived close I would be coming for the Tuna Tataki app everyday!

Afternoon: Whale Watching Tour with Springtide

Whale watching with SpringTide was easily one of the highlights of our Vancouver Island trip. Departing right from Victoria’s beautiful Inner Harbour, we spent three unforgettable hours spotting humpback whales, sea lions, harbour seals and bald eagles while learning so much from the onboard naturalists. One thing we loved is that they offer a Whale Guarantee, so if you don’t see whales, you can come back for another tour on a standby basis.

They also provide complimentary professional photos after your tour (!!), so you can put the camera down and simply enjoy the experience. Whether you choose their comfortable covered cruiser or a Zodiac for a more adventurous ride, this is one experience you won’t want to miss.

Something that I particuarlly loved was that they offer complimentary wind breakers and pants on board!!! As someone who is always cold, this was amazing! TIP: If you are prone to feeling cold- sit at the back of the boat. This was a game changer for me

Dinner: Ferris’ Upstairs Seafood & Oyster Bar

After a day on the water, seafood just feels right. Ferris’ is consistently rated as one of Victoria’s best casual seafood restaurants, known for fresh oysters, local seafood and a lively atmosphere.

Before You Fly Home

Before heading to the airport, make one final stop at House of Boateng for breakfast. Their creative infusion brunch menu, incredible coffee and welcoming atmosphere make it one of the best breakfast spots in town and has brought people to Langford!!!

Where to Stay for 3 days in Victoria BC

If you’re looking for a relaxing escape surrounded by nature for 3 days in Victoria BC while still being close to the city’s top attractions, I highly recommend staying in Langford. We loved being able to spend our mornings hiking through forests and our afternoons exploring downtown Victoria, all without the crowds and higher hotel prices of staying right in the city.

Quails Run was the perfect base for this itinerary and made it easy to experience the best of both worlds: nature and city life.

After a full day of sightseeing, head back to Quails Run to unwind before dinner. This rental actually has an option where you can pay for a day pass at the nearby Westin Hotel! We absolutely went for it here and LOVED the pool
